WH Denies Bush "God" Claims by BBC

The BBC Piles on Bush Today and it is really just silly what they will print to push their agenda.

The BBC is airing a news report where they claim that Bush claims God told him to invade Iraq and God told him to invade Afghanistan:

The comments were attributed to Mr Bush by the Palestinian negotiator Nabil Shaath in the upcoming TV series Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs.

Mr Shaath said that in a 2003 meeting with Mr Bush, the US president said he was “driven with a mission from God”.

“President Bush said to all of us: ‘I’m driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan. And I did, and then God would tell me, George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq… And I did.

“‘And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me, Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East. And by God I’m gonna do it.'”

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, who attended the meeting in June 2003 too, also appears on the documentary series to recount how Mr Bush told him: “I have a moral and religious obligation. So I will get you a Palestinian state.”

It’s one thing to make it sound as if Bush is wanting to make moral decisions. It’s another to say Bush is hearing voices like Joan of Arc. Most Americans are not opposed to a little prayer and meditation. But, the left just gets testy that Bush is a man of faith and love to make it sound like he’s nuts.

I don’t think they are doing anything but pushing God Fearing Americans away from their religious intolerant party. Most churchgoers understand in their own way that “God speaks to them”. But, this is a foreign concept to most liberals. So they try to push that Bush is just crazy and offend many religious Americans in the process. And, then they wonder why church going Americans are voting Republican.

TigerHawk has much to add on the “revelations” from the BBC.
