Dan Savage, the editor of The Stranger a Far Left Seattle weekly and the author of “Savage Love,” the internationally syndicated sex advice column, has a new pet project to raise money for democratic candidates and causes… The I.T.M.F.A. website.
Dan Savage has a contentious past with a history of bashing conservatives including lines like this little jewel: “the right-wingers and the fundies and the sex-phobes don’t just have it in for the queers. They’re coming for your asses too.” Huh?
On the death of Pope John Paul II, Savage wrote:
So I can’t get behind this orgy of cheap and easy piety… I’m sorry the old bastard’s dead, I’m sorry he suffered. But I’m not so sorry that I won’t stoop to working John Paul II into a column about zombie fetishism.

In 2000 he was convicted and sentenced with perjury and felony assault:
Dan volunteered for the Republican Bauer campaign, intending to try to infect the candidate with his flu. He wrote that he’d licked doorknobs and other objects in the campaign office, and handed Bauer a saliva-coated pen, hoping to pass the disease on to Bauer and his supporters (though he later said that much of the article had been fictitious). He also registered and participated in the caucus, which was illegal, as Savage was not an Iowa resident. He was charged with perjury and felony assault, pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of fraudulent voting in a caucus, and was sentenced to a year’s probation, 50 hours of community service, and a $750 fine.
But, now Dan Savage is raising money for the liberal ACLU and democratic candidates running this fall at his website ITMFA.
Here are the campaigns Dan is donating the ITMFA funds to:
$4000 to the ACLU.
$2000 to Ned Lamont.
$2000 to Bob Casey.
It’s no surprise that he is donating to democrat Bob Casey, since this is how Dan Savage defines his opponent, Senator Rick Santorum:
Santorum: “The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex.”
