Global Jihad: It Never Was About Iraq

Soccer Dad examines the Statistics of Global Jihad from 2006 and concludes- the global jihad the world is currently facing is clearly more than a reaction to Israel–or the US, for that matter:

44 countries and territories–both within and without the Middle East–were attacked by Islamic terrorists in 2006…

The numbers from Iraq in one year show the results of the continuing policy of the terrorists to concentrate on killing innocent Iraqis.

India suffered from 295 attacks, resulting in 704 deaths and 2024 injuries.
Pakistan suffered from 189 attacks, resulting in 619 deaths and 729 injuries.
Thailand suffered from 314 attacks, resulting in 407 deaths and 455 injures.

Compare that with Afghanistan, which in 2006 suffered from 228 attacks, resulting in 853 deaths and 1176 injuries–There were more attacks separately in India and Thailand than there were in Afghanistan. Whatever else you might try to derive from the numbers, the global jihad the world is currently facing is clearly more than a reaction to Israel–or the US, for that matter.
