Swedish officials found a bomb outside a bank in Arboga early this morning!
TV4 has a report (in Swedish).
A large bomb was discovered early this morning at a Swedish bank south of Stockholm.
The Local reported:
A bomb was discovered at 4am on Wednesday at Handelsbanken in Arboga in central Sweden. A police bomb squad arrived from Stockholm at 9am. A decision will be taken later today as to whether there is a need to evacuate houses in the immediate area.
“When the patrol took a closer look they discovered that it was primed with what we presume to be plastic explosives,” said police spokesman Per Ahlström.
“It look likes a pretty big charge, one to one and a half kilos. So there would definitely have been a major bang if their plan had succeeded” he added.
Police have cordoned off an area around the bank with a radius of 150 metres.
There was also threats to a nuclear plant north of Stockholm today.
