As a result 17 Missouri College Republicans (MOCR), in an act of GOP bravery, personally presented her with with the ‘Rubber Stamp’ award at her Senate office in Washington D.C. for her role in obsessively voting the party line. Missouri Values Benched So Sen. McCaskill can Vote with Most Liberal SenatorsWashington D.C. – Today, the Missouri College Republicans (MOCR) presented Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill with the dubious “Rubber Stamp Award” for her role in sidelining Missouri values to vote with East Coast Liberal Democrats. Vice Chair Jeremy Hagen said that “After researching Sen. McCaskill’s voting it became clear, despite campaign promises to the contrary, that Sen. McCaskill has become a ‘rubber stamp’ for the Democrat Party.” Indeed, her independent streak during the campaign seems to have melted away upon arrival in D.C.
Sen. McCaskill has voted with Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) 92 % of the time, with Senator John Kerry (D-MA) 94%, and with Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) 96%. Hagen later said, “…that for New York and Massachusetts this is great, but what about Missouri?”
Missouri State University chapter chair Stephen Smith added, “For a person who campaigned that her opponent being a ‘rubber stamp’ Sen. McCaskill’s conduct thus far seems hypocritical.”
It is clear that Sen. McCaskill’s voting record is more representative of Massachusetts or New York and sells short the state she is supposed to represent -Missouri. Sen. McCaskill campaigned on the ability to be independent of party pressure and vote for the interests of Missouri. However, it seems Sen. McCaskill is having trouble living up to her campaign promises. Dan Bell, Southern Director claims that, “So far, saying “No” to liberal Senators such as Hilary Clinton and John Kerry has proven too difficult for Sen. McCaskill.”

MRS. McCASKILL: I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT DECLARING THAT WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TERRORISM WORLDWIDE THAT IS A STATUS QUO DAY IN AND DAY OUT WOULD BE CONSIDERED A DAY-TO-DAY EMERGENCY. THE EXAMPLES YOU USED, HOWEVER, SENATOR, OF HURRICANE KATRINA OR THE NECESSITY TO RESPOND IN LEBANON, THOSE ISSUES I THINK CERTAINLY WOULD BE ISSUES THAT THE PROFESSIONALS AT T.S.A., THE OFFICERS, WOULD WANT TO RESPOND QUICKLY.
