Virginia Gov. Timothy Kaine declared Friday a day of mourning and called for a moment of silence at noon to honor the 32 victims in Monday’s massacre at Virginia Tech.

Friday is designated as national “Hokie Hope” Day an alumni-led declaration of a national “Orange and Maroon Effect” day…

“Virginia Tech alumni are leading an effort to declare Friday, April 20 “Hokie Hope – Orange and Maroon Effect” day to honor those killed in the tragic shootings at the campus on Monday, according to the Virginia Tech web site. Everyone is encouraged to show their support for the victims, their families and the Tech community by wearing orange and maroon.”
