Five of the men lived in Cherry Hill, a Philadelphia suburb about 20 miles from Fort Dix- AP.
The 3 Duka brothers lived at 215 Mimosa in Cherry Hill with as many as 14 members of their family. CBS3 says that all three brothers worked for their father’s roofing company. The two older boys had wives and children.

Dritan and Juliana Duka were born and married in Kosovo. They left Kosovo on 28 March 1999, travelled to a refugee camp in Albania, and arrived in the United Kingdom on 2 June 1999, where Dritan claimed asylum, naming his wife as his dependant. Renols Kabashi was born on 27 January 1984. He is Juliana’s younger brother and is now, therefore, aged 18. He arrived in the UK on 25 October 2000.
…The first appeal to be held was that of Dritan Duka on 13 February 2001. By that time, Mr and Mrs Duka were living in Oxford with their 11-month old son, Drijol. Juliana gave evidence. She was doing voluntary work for Social Services and hospitals in the area. She said she was studying at Oxford college and had applied to Oxford Brookes University for a place on their Management and Administration course, commencing September 2001. She is a talented linguist and had undertaken a study course in computers. She said she wanted to stay in the United Kingdom to pursue higher education.

The men were under surveillance after a shopkeeper notified authorities of a disturbing video he was asked to copy:
In court documents, prosecutors said the suspects came to the attention of authorities in January 2006 when a shopkeeper alerted the FBI about a “disturbing” video he had been asked to copy onto a DVD.
The video showed 10 men in their early 20s “shooting assault weapons at a firing range … while calling for jihad and shouting in Arabic ‘Allah Akbar’ (God is great),” the complaint said. Six of the 10 were identified as those arrested in the plot.
“What concerns us is, obviously, they began conducting surveillance and weapons training in the woods and were discussing killing large numbers of soldiers,” Boyd said.
Christie said one of the suspects worked at Super Mario’s Pizza in nearby Cookstown and delivered pizzas to the base, using that opportunity to scout out a possible attack.
** The local Muslims are afraid the community may equate Islam with terrorism:
“If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” said Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer who represented many of the detainees. “But when the government says ‘Islamic militants,’ it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous.
“Don’t equate actions with religion,” he said.
Sohail Mohammed is a lawyer for the American Muslim Union.
