Anti-Syrian politician Walid Eido and his son were killed in the bomb blast.

Ya Libnan says 10 people so far are known to be dead from the blast in Beirut.

An explosion from a bomb-rigged car rocked Beirut’s seafront Wednesday, killing an anti-Syrian lawmaker. Parliamentary Deputy Walid Eido, his son Khaled, and two bodyguards were killed, along with 6 others.

A total of ten people were killed are currently unknown, 10 were injured.

The body of woman, covered in blood, was seen being pulled away from the seen by local residents. She was screaming in agony. Another man was being carried away as police sealed off the area, which is near an amusement park and a military club.

The bomb-laden car was a Mitsubishi Pajero sport utility vehicle. The bomb blast was eerily similar to the massive blast that killed Hariri in February 2005. A coincidence perhaps, but the vehicle used to carry the explosives for the Hariri assassination was also a Mitsubishi.

Al-Moustaqbal Movement MP Walid Eido, his son Khaled, two body guards were among the 10 casualties reported.

The location of the blast was between the Sporting Club and Long Beach Club swimming facilities. The explosion rocked surrounding neighborhoods, shattered windows of apartments in the area, knocked down walls and scattered debris on top of parked cars.

It was the sixth bomb blast in less than four weeks in Lebanon.

The bombing today was eerily similar to the blast that killed former PM Rafik Hariri.
Ya Libnan again:

Like in the case of Hariri’s assassination Eido was targeted in today’s explosion by a booby trapped car.

Like in the case of Hariri’s assassination the a booby trapped car was a Mitsubishi, but this time it is a 4 wheel Pajero.

Like in the case of Hariri’s assassination all fingers are pointed at Syria for being this murder too, since Walid Eido was an outspoken critic of Syria

Eido is the third Member of the parliament to be assassinated, since Rafik Hariri and Bassil Fleihan were killed. The other 2 were Gibran Tueini , son of al Nahar General manager MP Ghassan Tueini and and Pierre Gemayel, son of former president Amin Gemayel.

Update: Saad Hariri called for a mass protest tomorrow and called on the Arab League to boycott the murderous regime in Syria!
