Not Quite a Rally… 24% of Kansas Republicans Choose McCain

It looks like the clear Republican leader has his work cut out for him.
Only 24% of Kansas Republicans chose John McCain with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
CNN reported:

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Huckabee had 60 percent of the vote, compared with 24 percent for Arizona Sen. John McCain and 11 percent for Texas. Rep. Ron Paul. Kansas had 36 delegates at stake.

Saturday’s Republican contests in Kansas, Louisiana and Washington could predict whether the party will line up behind McCain as its candidate or provide Huckabee with an opportunity to zing the presumptive nominee.

This isn’t necessarily bad news for McCain– As Rush Limbaugh says, “A vote for Huck is a vote for McCain.” That would give McCain 84% of the Kansas votes.

Maybe that is why Rudy-supporter Texas Governor Rick Perry called and asked Huck to drop out yesterday.

Another blow to McCain… Governor Mitt Romney won the CPAC straw poll… even though he dropped out of the race.
