Iranian National Soccer Team Will Travel US

They may be in for a culture shock since women are allowed in the games.

Iran announced today that its national soccer team will travel to the US and play at least two games with American teams.
AKI reported:

Iran’s national football team has been invited by the US Soccer Federation to tour the US in late June and July.

The Iranian team will be hosted by the Los Angeles Blues and the visit will include a training camp, reported Iran’s state news agency IRNA on Monday.

The team will also play two games during their visit.

Last week it was reported that the US team Los Angeles Galaxy had asked for a friendly game with the Iranians, claims that the US team denied.

“We will surely play Galaxy in case of receiving an official invitation from the US soccer federation,” Iran’s Football Federation spokesman, Hassan Ghaffari, told reporters.

The 10-day tour is still to be approved by Iran’s national teams committee and the International Council of Physical Training Organisation.

In Iran the women were turned away from the soccer matches in Tehran in 2006. Some were kicked or bused out away from the stadium.
