Is anyone really surprised by this?
The Weekly Standard Blog reported that of the 7 freshman Democratic senators 6 voted for releasing the second half ot the TARP funds yesterday although 5 of them campaigned against the original bailout bill.
Oregon Democrat Jeff Merkley, even ran an ad on TARP funds against his opponent Gordon Smith:
From the Democrat’s ad:
“Merkley says no bailouts until CEO bonuses are cut and middle class tax payers are protected. Finally a senator on your side.”
Or not.
Of course, this is nothing new.
Democrats always run as conservatives and vote as liberals.
This is just the latest example of that.
