Harry Reid says they’re not sweetheart deals. They’re “compromises.”
The Hill reported:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday dismissed criticism his chamber’s healthcare bill was riddled with “sweetheart deals” designed to win skeptical senators’ votes.

Those alleged deals are “compromises” that are commonplace in any piece of legislation, no matter who controls Congress or sponsors the bill in question, Reid told reporters.

When do I get my compromise?

UPDATE: Later today Harry Reid slammed those senators who didn’t secure a “compromise.”
The Politico reported:

“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) offered a vigorous defense Monday of the deals in the Senate reform bill that benefit individual states, saying ‘it doesn’t speak well’ of senators who didn’t secure such deals …”
