Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) told MSNBC reporters today that if Scott Brown wins then “health care might be dead.”

Let’s hope so.
Go Scott Brown.

Democrat Martha Coakley predicts a close victory tonight.
The Boston Herald reported:

Democrat Martha Coakley is predicting victory today in her hard-fought campaign against Republican Scott Brown.

The attorney general voiced confidence to reporters after casting her ballot at an elementary school near her home north of Boston. Polls opened at 7:00 a.m. EST in the special election to replace the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.

Coakley said she wasn’t paying attention to media or polls suggesting she might lose to Brown, who’s ridden a wave of support across the solidly Democratic state. She planned to greet voters at a commuter rail station in Boston before heading to cities in the southern and western part of the state and also scheduled a return to Boston Tuesday night to await the results.

The FiveThirtyEight Senate Forecasting Model, which correctly predicted the outcome of all 35 Senate races in 2008, now regards Republican Scott Brown as a 74 percent favorite to win the Senate seat in Massachusetts.
