The Iranian Regime spokesman blamed the Obama Administration for the recent Koran burnings.
Fars News reported:
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast condemned the recent insult to the holy Quran on the 9/11 anniversary in the US, and stressed that Washington’s effort to spread anti-Islamic sentiments and Islamophobia in the US was the root cause of the provocative act.
“These types of extremist acts are the result of Islamophobia and anti-Islamic sentiments in the US,” Mehman-Parast said in a statement issued on Monday.
He reiterated that the international law holds Washington accountable for such a flagrant insult to religious values which fuels sectarian strife, saying, “According to the international norms and law, the US administration has the duty to prevent the spread of religious hatred and to report its relevant measures and actions.”
Meantime, the spokesman pointed out that the announcement by the US evangelical priest about discarding his Quran burning plan is not enough to end such insulting plans and actions.
“Considering the massive reaction shown by the public opinion, religious leaders and authorities, the US administration should account to the world public opinion, specially Muslims, and adopt the necessary measures to prevent such disgusting moves,” Mehman-Parast stressed.
