Threatening Letter With White Powder Sent to US Embassy in Tel Aviv

A threatening letter with white powder was found at the US Embassy in Tel Aviv today.
YNet News reported:

An envelope containing a threatening letter and suspicious white powder was found Tuesday afternoon at the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Similar envelopes were sent to the Swedish and Spanish embassies in the city.

A hazardous material expert said the powder had spilled onto the female employee, but she did not feel any irritation or burning sensation. The powder was sent to the Environmental Protection Ministry for further examination.

“At this point we have no indication as to whether or not the material is hazardous,” he said.

Firefighters set up a portable shower at the site to sanitize the female employee who opened the envelope, as well as another worker. The two were then placed in isolation.
