They’ve completely lost it.
Now they’re even attacking the media.
Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) went off on a reporter last night at a debate telling him to, “Shut up!”
Then Hinchey attacked the reporter.
The Ithaca Journal reported on the attack:
A heated debate between U.S. Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-Hurley, and a Kingston newspaper correspondent Thursday night allegedly led to a physical altercation, according to media reports.
Hinchey, who is facing Republican George Phillips for the 22nd Congressional District seat, was taking questions from the media prior to a League of Women Voters debate in Saugerties. William J. Kemble, a correspondent for The Daily Freeman, asked Hinchey about a financial interest he might have in a project he secured federal funding for in the Saugerties area, according to Capital Tonight. Reached Friday, Hinchey’s campaign said that’s not true.
The questioning, which was caught on tape, led to Hinchey telling the Kemble to “shut up” after the reporter continually tried to ask questions about the topic.
Here’s where it gets murky.
After the questioning, a Your News Now videographer said the two had an altercation, and alleged that Hinchey poked Kemble in the chest, according to Capital Tonight. This was not on camera.
