Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the head of the Republican Study Committee, a group of over 175 House Republicans organized for the purpose of advancing a conservative social and economic agenda in the House of Representatives, told Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday this morning that the McConnell Plan does not have 218 Republican votes in the House. Conservatives will not support the plan.
Rep. Jim Jordan:
“Well the McConnell Plan does not have 218 Republican votes. No way. There’s all kinds of conservatives in the Republican Study Committee and House conference who will not support the Mitch McConnell plan… Who knows if there’s a combination of R’s and D’s who will support it but I’m telling you House conservatives, members of the senate are not going to support the McConnell plan. I’m not going to support the McConnell plan… This is just kicking the can down the road. Look, the American people sent us here to make big tough choices.”
