While Republicans continue their suicidal march to extinction by advocating a path to citizenship for millions of illegal aliens while making a mockery out of the rule in their comprehensive immigration reform plans, let’s take the politics out and look at why immigration is broken. It is broken because under the Republican and Democrat administrations of Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama the borders were not secured. It’s broken because under Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama, America’s immigration agency, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS formerly INS), spawned into an anti-legal, anti-job, arbitrary and lawless immigration agency—that even creates illegal aliens. As I document in Crime & Incompetence: Guide to America’s Immigration Crisis, using government reports and federal indictments, the USCIS has been riddled with mind-blowing incompetence and crime. When it is faster and cheaper to bribe your way through the system, and leave the borders open, what did anyone expect would happen? Bribes be it for money, jewelry or sex is but one criminal element at the agency.
And Washington’s solution starring President Obama, senators: Marco Rubio (R-FL.), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Dick Durbin (D-IL.), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ)? Dump millions of illegal aliens into this big government state-run boondoggle. Genius.
Meanwhile in Washington’s rush to pander, America’s elected leaders are discriminating against every legal immigrant from every country around the world including Mexico. Careful now, some people might think that is racist. Careful now, is Washington saying that all the legal immigrants stuck in their broken system should go illegal because following the laws in America is for suckers? Unlike other journalists I won’t pretend to know what is in the hearts of America’s elected leaders. But I will say, as a reformed legal immigrant who dealt with their broken agency for 20 years (Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama), they are either racists, vote-grabbing or clueless. Which one is it? Who wants to play the race card now?
