Fort Knox on Lockdown After Shooting at Army Base

A shooting this afternoon caused a temporary lockdown at Fort Knox army base.
The shooting took place late Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of Human Resources Command.
USA Today reported:

Army officials are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting that caused a temporary lockdown at Fort Knox, according to news reports.

There were no immediate reports of casualties, a fort spokesman told WDRB-TV. The lockdown was lifted about 7 p.m., but traffic in and out of the fort was slow because of increased security.

The shooting happened near the Humans Resources Command, which has 3,800 employees…

…The 109,000-acre complex is adjacent to the other “Fort Knox” — the fortified U.S. Bullion Depository that holds much of the nation’s official gold reserves.
