Heritage Action reported:
Washington – Moments ago, the House’s $940 billion food stamp and farm bill failed by a vote of 195 to 234. Heritage Action released the following statement from CEO Michael A. Needham:

“Today is a victory for the taxpayer and the free market. Now is the time for the House to recognize what so many others have: The unholy alliance that has long dominated America’s agriculture and nutrition policy must end.”
They are talking about bringing it back next week with more Dem votes (ie: More food stamps) The reason the Farm Bill may not be dead: Democrats would not vote for it because it had some minor cuts to the Food Stamp program (not near enough), and House leadership could try to get Democrats on board by reducing those cuts.

Lets get that message out to stop them!

Here are the results of today’s vote

Indiana Rep. Stutzman on the House Floor yesterday. Stutzman urged Congress to split the bill into a true, “farm-only” Farm Bill and separate food stamp legislation.
