Christians have called Mosul their home fore 1,700 years.
Internally displaced Iraqi Christians who fled violence in Mosul celebrated Christmas in Baghdad on Wednesday.
80 families gathered at a school which they use as a temporary shelter.
One Iraqi woman in Kurdistan said:
Western countries are celebrating. We are living in humiliation. We want to go our churches in the new year.
