Sony Exec Reaches Out to Al Sharpton – Will Hook Up This Week for Race Conference in NYC (Video)

Embattled Sony chief Amy Pascal reached out to Al Sharpton to meet in person after racist emails between herself and producer Scott Rudin about President Obama were leaked to the public. Paskcal will meet with Al Sharpton over the weekend.

You know things are bad when Sony execs are calling Al Sharpton.
Pascal better be ready to pony up some cash for a good racial cause.

FOX 411 reported:

Embattled Sony chief Amy Pascal is due to meet with the Rev. Al Sharpton in person in New York just days before Sony’s remake of “Annie,” starring Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis, is to be released in theaters.

Pascal made a call to Sharpton late last week after racist e-mails between herself and producer Scott Rudin about President Obama and what movies he might like were revealed as part of sensitive information released by hackers.

Sharpton said to Page Six exclusively:

‘“I told her how offended I was, I felt it was outrageous. She said it didn’t reflect her [true feelings]. I told her when you look at the lack of diversity in Hollywood, and her own company and the context and language [of the e-mails], how could I not feel offended?”’

Sharpton said Pascal was due to be in New York next week and “asked me to meet. I agreed.” Sharpton also said he would ask prominent African-American academic Dr. Cornel West and Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League, to join the meeting. He added no mention was made of Rudin in the call.
