Protests erupted in India after a 72 year-old nun was gang-raped in her convent.

A 72-year-old nun at a convent school in West Bengal’s Nadia district was allegedly gang raped by dacoits, police said on Saturday. The incident happened on Friday night when a dozen armed dacoits raided the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Ranaghat.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has ordered a CID probe into the matter.
Talking to the journalist here in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee said:
“We strongly condemn the incident that took place at the Ranaghat Convent. The CID will be examining all aspects to this horrific crime. Swift, strongest action to be taken.”
Locals blocked road and rail traffic in protest against the rape.
The local police have detained five people for their alleged involvement in the Nadia gang-rape case.
