St. Louis County officials released the name of the Ferguson police shooter today.
Bob McCulloch announced 20 year-old Jeffrey Williams as the police shooter.
He was charged with firing shots. The charge is assault in the first degree.
Charged with three counts of armed criminal action.
A weapon was recovered.
Williams told police he fired the shots.
Williams is African-American.
Attorney General Eric Holder released a statement today after the arrest of Jeffrey Williams.
Holder pats himself on the back.
“This arrest sends a clear message that acts of violence against our law enforcement personnel will never be tolerated. The swiftness of this action is a credit to significant cooperation between federal authorities and the St. Louis County Police Department… I commend both the ATF and the St. Louis Police for their tremendous work in identifying this suspect. In the days ahead we will continue to partner with the authorities in St. Louis County to secure justice.”
Ferguson Mayor James Knowles slammed the “hostile language” coming from Eric Holder earlier this week.
