Bernie Sanders is bashing Donald Trump this week because he’s not focusing on “real issues” by going after Islamic terrorists and how they’re infiltrating the country.
Bernie Sanders explained that Donald Trump was using the “oldest trick in the world” and then argued Trump was not “focusing on the real issues” when he called for a moratorium on Muslim immigration.
Appearing on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily” with Chuck Todd on Thursday, Sanders responded to Trump’s call “for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” with the claim that the real estate mogul is like all the other “demagogues [who] historically try to play people off against each other.”
“And instead of focusing on the real issues, why the middle class is disappearing, massive levels of income and wealth inequality, climate change, a corrupt campaign financing, it’s so much easier to ‘Let’s blame all Muslims or all Mexicans are criminals and rapists,’” Sanders suggested. “So clearly, we have to come together as a people and address the real problems facing our country.”
