Senator Rand Paul went on Face the Nation on Sunday to discuss the current state of the Republican Party and Ted Cruz’s citizenship.
Paul says Cruz is a ‘naturally born Canadian.’
“All experts agree that he was naturally born in Canada. And so the legal question is can you be naturally born in Canada and also be considered to be an naturally born American citizen? It hadn’t been decided… There’s no question if you were born in Canada and your mother is American you’re a citizen. But to use this unusual language in the Constitution of ‘natural born” I think it will be brought up. Congressman Grayson from Florida has already said he is going to challenge it in court. I think the Democrats will challenge it.”
Rand Paul repeated the claim Monday morning in an interview on FOX News.
