Hillary Clinton Struggles=> Can’t Fill Small Chicago Ballroom

Chicago native Hillary Clinton is struggling to fill a hall with a capacity of only several hundred at a campaign rally Wednesday afternoon in Chicago at the Parkway Ballroom in the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood.

Live video on You Tube and a photo by Washington Post reporter Abby D. Phillip show lots of open space at the small hall where leading Democratic Party presidential candidate Clinton is scheduled to appear with Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of the late Black Lives Matter activist Sandra Bland, in an effort to court the votes of African-Americans.

“Clinton’s Chicago event was scheduled to start 45 min ago. Large ballroom still half empty as speakers warm up crowd”

Live feed from YouTube of the Clinton event forty-five minutes after the photo was taken still shows the hall about half-empty as Clinton had not yet taken the stage.

DNAInfo Chicago reported about 350 supporters were expected to attend.

Just before Clinton finally took the stage with Ms. Reed-Veal at 12:30 p.m. CST–ninety minutes after the scheduled start. Abby D. Phillip followed up with a cliam by the Clinton campaign the ballroom was at capacity. Phillip posted the report with another photo of the ballroom.

“Clinton campaign says 400 ppl in the crowd for today’s event and the room is at capacity”

There was so much left open space that two reporters, including Abby Phillip were able to mug for an ABC News live feed camera.

“In which @AlbaMonica and @abbydphillip wave at the live stream”

Monica Alba is with NBC News.
