Police arrested 18 year-old suspect Da Vuan Johnson after a brutal beating and carjacking of an elderly Houston man.
Da Vuan Johnson, 18, was also arrested back in December for breaking into someone’s home.
Great kid, huh?
Click2Houston reported:
A 62-year-old man is recovering after being viciously attacked in his own driveway. Terry Hughes had just pulled up behind his home in the 6000 block of Montauk in west Harris County, not far from Cypress, when he said a man ran up behind him.
“He put his hand on my mouth, and I couldn’t breathe, and he was trying to choke me, and then I passed out,” Hughes said. “It was only for a couple of seconds, because when I woke up, he was already in the car.”
Hughes was banged up during the struggle. His arms and hands are all scraped and bloodied, and he can barely move his neck, but he told Channel 2 his physically wounds will heal much faster than his emotional ones.
“I’m just afraid,” he said. “I don’t even want to go out there.”
Harris County sheriff’s deputies had been looking for the suspect since Thursday when the attack happened. The incident was captured by nearby surveillance cameras, which gave deputies an idea of who they were looking for. They knew what the suspect looked like.
Neighbors had been keeping an eye out, too. It was someone in the area who called police on Friday when they spotted a suspicious person walking in the neighborhood.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded and quickly realized he matched the carjacker’s description. Only Channel 2 cameras were there when they made the arrest in the 15000 block of West Little York, less than a half mile from where the carjacking happened.
But Rubio's upset with cops – whom he claims stop blacks for no reason. https://t.co/GP7BCE6IVU https://t.co/WHYXA4Kdxa
