Update, 8:35 p.m.:
Authorities say a man was shot and wounded in the University of Washington crowd Friday night, where Trump supporters and self-described anti-fascists have been clashing for hours.
Police said the victim was shot in the abdomen while in the crowd. Medics are taking him to Harborview Medical Center with potentially life-threatening wounds, Seattle Fire said.
Alex Franke, a University of Washington student and volunteer medic, was among the first to treat the victim. “He was just lying there,” Franke said. “There was so much blood, it was hard to tell.”
No further details on the shooting or victim were immediately available. According to the Seattle’s 911 call sheet, first responders were called to the area near Spokane Lane Northeast shortly before 8:30 p.m.
A warning text alert went out to the university community, urging people to avoid the area.
Story is still developing….
The leftists are completely unhinged. They use violence to silence any speech that they do not agree with. Milo Yiannopoulos returned to the stage to continue his speech. This is the only way we defeat the leftists! Do not back down, do not let them silence you!
Yiannopoulos returns to stage, says he thinks the show should go on. “if we don’t continue, they have won.” Crowd cheers, stands.
