Jakarta’s Christian Governor was sentenced to two years behind bars Tuesday. ‘Ahok’ was accused of ‘insulting the Quran’. Radical groups AKA Muslims have been calling for him to be jailed for months now. He was found guilty of blasphemy.
Jakarta’s Christian governor has been sentenced to two years in jail for blasphemy, a harsher-than-expected ruling critics fear will embolden hardline Islamist forces to challenge secularism in Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation.
Tuesday’s guilty verdict for Basuki Tjahaja Purnama comes amid concern about the growing influence of Islamist groups, who organized mass rallies during a tumultuous election campaign that ended with Purnama losing his bid for another term as governor.
Now of course Indonesia practices the ‘moderate Islam’ that the world should be looking to for inspiration. Women are caned if they kiss their boyfriends and Christians are jailed if they dare insult Mohammad who was a maniacal war-monger with a 6 year old wife.
What exactly is blasphemy according to Islam? Anyone who denies Mohammad is the messenger of Allah according to Quran 5:33.
Notice how Muslims are only concerned with minority rights when they are the minority. When they become the majority, there are no minority rights.
