Petition Started to Appoint Special Prosecutor to Investigate Seth Rich Murder

The parents of slain DNC staffer Seth Rich demand that the D.C. police reveal the details of the murder investigation after reports surfaced that he may have been the source of WikiLeaks emails.

On July 8, 2016, 27 year-old Democratic staffer Seth Conrad Rich was murdered in Washington DC. The killer or killers took nothing from their victim, leaving behind his wallet, watch and phone.

Shortly after the killing, Redditors and social media users were pursuing a “lead” saying that Rich was en route to the FBI the morning of his murder, apparently intending to speak to special agents about an “ongoing court case” possibly involving the Clinton family.

Seth Rich’s father Joel told reporters, “If it was a robbery — it failed because he still has his watch, he still has his money — he still has his credit cards, still had his phone so it was a wasted effort except we lost a life.”

The Metropolitan police posted a reward for information on Rich’s murder.

In August Wikileaks offered a $20,000 reward for information on the murder of DNC staffer Seth rich.

Julian Assange also suggested in August that Seth Rich was a Wikileaks informant.

This past weekend entrepreneur and hacker Kim DotCom admitted he was involved in the Wikileaks Podesta email scandal along with Seth Rich.

It wasn’t the Russians.

On Monday Wikileaks founder Julian Assange tweeted out a cryptic message on Seth Rich.

Also on Monday, Kim Dotcom said he would be meeting with his lawyers so that everything goes smoothly.

The Daily Mail has the exclusive on this story, which you can read an excerpt of below:

The family of slain DNC staffer Seth Rich is calling on the Washington, D.C. police department to go public with details of the murder investigation, after ten months of near-silence from law enforcement officials and as theories continue to spread about the mysterious circumstances of Rich’s shooting death last July.

‘The family has full confidence in the Metropolitan Police Department’s ability to proceed with this investigation. But given the large amount of hearsay and conspiracy theories surrounding the case, maybe it’s time for the police department to be more forthcoming with information regarding the investigation and to update the people of Washington, D.C. on the status of the case,’ said Brad Bauman, a spokesperson for Rich’s family.

Bauman’s statement follows renewed interest in the murder investigation, amid claims that Rich may have been the source who leaked thousands of DNC emails to Wikileaks last summer.

The Daily Mail piece is a comprehensive look at the Seth Rich story — but deletes the latest information provided by Kim DotCom.

UPDATE:

A petition put up at petitions.whitehouse.gov reads:

“Appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate the murder of Seth Rich, the alleged Wikileaks email leaker

On July 10, 2016, Seth Rich was shot twice in the early morning as he walked back to his house in Washington D.C. Immediately after the crime, the death was called an armed robbery… but none of Seth Rich’s belongings were taken from him.

Rod Wheeler, a private investigator hired by the family, said that there was evidence Seth Rich had contacted WikiLeaks and that law enforcement were covering this up. MSM is not covering this murder, instead pushing it to the side, so it is now up to us.

The facts do not add up, law enforcement stopped covering the crime, and now it is time for us to fight for justice. Seth Rich deserves this.”

This petition needs 100,000 signatures to warrant a response from the White House.
