President Donald Trump has spent many weekends away from Washington, D.C., since his inauguration. A new report hints at one possible reason why.
A new feature story in Golf.com highlights the president’s love of golf, including frequent visits to his own clubs. Since his inauguration, he’s hit the links four times at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., where he has his own cottage adjacent to the pool.
During a recent round at the Bedminster golf course, he reportedly told some members that he frequently visits his own properties because “that White House is a real dump.”
A White House spokesperson denied the president said it, but Trump has stayed at his own properties, including Mar-a-Lago in Florida, on 21 of 26 weekends since being sworn in.
Of course, the media is outraged but conveniently forgets these photos from the White House.
