Rush Limbaugh on Charlottesville: “Young White Men Don’t Get Invited to the Left’s Victim Party”

Rush Limbaugh, today during his three-hour show yesterday, gave his millions of listeners (predictably enough) an analysis of the violence in Charlottesville over the weekend, as well as the long-term deeper implications of those events.

For example, in discussing President Trump’s condemnation of white supremacists earlier today, Limbaugh, with a theme of “Young White Men Don’t Get Invited to the Left’s Victim Party,” dug deeply into the subject of the Democrat Party’s obsession with identity politics. According to Limbaugh (starting at the 6:35 point of the clip immediately below):

And so the Democrat Party has been the party of identity politics. And when you do that, when you pick victims — and virtually everybody in the country except one or two different groups is a victim — what’s the end result of this? Well, let’s take it on the victim side. And let’s assume that the Democrats are persuasive across gender lines, sexual orientation lines, that they’re able to convince a whole swath of the American population that they’re victims. There are African-Americans, there are illegal immigrants, there are Native Americans, there are space aliens, women, transgenders, cisgenders, you name it. Any number of created groups are then said to have been victims. But of what?

What are they victims of? Well, the large umbrella answer is victims of America, victims of the American founding. The American founding enshrined inequality, they tell people, enshrined unfairness. The American founding enshrined racism and bigotry and homophobia.

So that’s probably gonna sell pretty well when you’re out there trying to make as many victims as you can. But one group is prohibited from ever being in the victims club, and that is white men. Plenty of white women are welcome in the victims club. Who are they victimized by? White men. White men have become predators and rapists that are constantly on the prowl.

Elsewhere during the program, Limbaugh pointed out some of the curious media reactions to the Charlottesville violence (starting at the 8:40 point of the clip immediately below):

Do you know what Reuters did today? Reuters stylebook refuses their reporters permission to use the word “terrorism” in any story about militant Islam or a genuine terror attack nowhere in the world at Reuters. It’s forbidden. They called this action “terrorism” five times in a story. So they’ve been willing to broom their own stylebook, which, again, is illustrative of what is really happening here.

Sheryl Gay Stolberg at the New York Times tweeted the following: “A few rapid thoughts from Charlottesville. Number one, striking how many of the white nationalists were young people, almost entirely men.” Her second tweet: “The hard left seemed as hate-filled as the Alt-Right. I saw club wielding Antifa beating white nationalists being led out of the park.” So here’s an acknowledgment from the media, from the New York Times, that there was an equal amount of hate from the left in this incident.

And then this in the Washington Post by David Weigel — believe me, who is nowhere near the right side of the aisle. Headline: “Fear of ‘Violent Left’ Preceded Events in Charlottesville.” I had to have three people read this to make sure that I wasn’t missing something in this. “On Saturday afternoon, shortly before her camera captured a car plowing through left-wing activists in Charlottesville, killing one and injuring more than a dozen others, Faith Goldy warned that the left was spinning out of control.”

Additionally, Limbaugh gave something of a warning to President Trump while analyzing his supplementary speech today which condemned “racism” as well as “the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.” Limbaugh basically noted the naivete of thinking that there is anything he can say that would satisfy those forces which are so rabidly aligned against him (starting at the 6:09 point of the clip immediately below):

I’m gonna tell you this. It

I’m gonna tell you this. It isn’t gonna be over. This is not gonna stop, the haranguing. And what does that mean? It means even though the president gave these groups that have been bellyaching the exact words they want to hear, they’re not going to stop, which means they’re actually after something else. And whatever it is, it isn’t peace, and it isn’t justice, and it isn’t freedom, and it isn’t tolerance in America. And they’re going to continue because their objective is to totally turn things upside down. They’re not interested in resolutions.

You know, both of these groups, both sides of this, you’ve got fringe leftists. And folks, I have a problem calling these people in the KKK white supremacists. I don’t think they’re right-wing at all. I know that Nazis are left-wing socialists! That’s the definition of the word, the Socialist Party, the Nazis, they’re left-wing. It’s why we did a little parody here at the beginning showing the things they have in common. And most of these people historically, the Klan were all Democrats. All of these statues of Civil War heroes, they’re all Democrats.

So the idea that we have a fringe bunch of right-wingers and a fringe bunch of left-wingers, I don’t accept that, but we do have a bunch of people out on the fringe, and for whatever reason, they don’t believe the Constitution applies to ’em. They don’t believe they have equality. They don’t believe they’ve got opportunity. They’ve been taught, they’ve been inculcated, they’ve been propagandized with the idea that no matter what they’re never going to be on a level playing field.

And on the other side of this where you have the Nazis and the white supremacists, they’re told every day that they’ve benefit from white privilege. That’s the latest rage on campus, white privilege, understanding your whiteness, understanding the problem. These people can’t even find jobs, for crying out loud, and they’re being told they’re benefiting from white privilege, so they’re ticked off. And there are people benefiting from both sides of this being ticked off. Find them. Find who benefits here. Financially, politically, however it happens, somebody is benefiting, somebody wants these kinds of things to happen.
