‘OF COURSE I MADE THE PIE’: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Speaks to Todd Starnes About April Ryan #PieGate Accusations

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders spoke to conservative Fox News columnist Todd Starnes about accusations by April Ryan, CNN analyst and White House reporter for American Urban Radio Network, that Sanders did not bake the chocolate pecan pie she tweeted a photo of on Thanksgiving Day.

Screen image from a confrontation between Sanders and Ryan earlier this month.

Ryan went so far as to demand Sanders bake her a pie to prove herself but said she would not eat it, accusing Sanders of wanting to poison White House reporters.

Starnes’ report quotes Sanders saying the recipe came down from her mother and grandmother. And that she not only has baked the pie for family holiday gatherings, she has also baked the pie for her neighbors over the years.

“Of course I made the pie,” Sanders told me. “I make it for every holiday family gathering and have for years.”

A source close to the Sanders and Huckabee families confirmed to me the authenticity and the tastiness of the pecan pies.

Ms. Sanders was using a recipe handed down to her by her mother and her grandmother.

“I also used to make them for my neighbors on my street at Christmas every year,” Sanders said.”

The photo of the pie in question:

Sanders father, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee spoke out about #PieGate earlier Saturday, using his trademark political humor, “Did @PressSec really bake the pie? YES! But Robert Mueller has subpoenaed the pie and @WhiteHouse counsel and @realDonaldTrump are expected to be interrogated as will members of @SarahHuckabee family.”

Ryan also racially attacked Trump supporters Diamond and Silk Saturday over PieGate.
