SWAMP: AG Sessions DEFENDS Loretta Lynch’s Use of Email Alias

In his testimony to House investigators Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions not only acknowledged his predecessor Loretta Lynch used an email alias, but defended the practice.

Daily Caller reports:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions acknowledged on Tuesday that he uses a pseudonym for his government email account.

Sessions made the admission in defense of his predecessor, Loretta Lynch, who used the name “Elizabeth Carlisle” to mask her identity on her government email account.

“I would say in defense of Attorney General Lynch, I have a pseudonym also. I understand all cabinet officials do and maybe some sub-cabinet officials do,” Sessions said during a House Judiciary Committee hearing.

Sessions had been asked whether he would recuse himself from any investigation into Lynch’s use of a pseudonym.

“She would probably have been following the advice of the Department of Justice,” Sessions said of Lynch.

A FOIA revealed the former U.S. Attorney General used the alias ‘Elizabeth Carlisle’ within one week of joining the Justice Department.

Disobedient Media reports:

On August 4, 2017, in response to these revelations, Disobedient Media filed a FOIA request with the U.S. Department of Justice, seeking further information regarding Lynch’s email alias. In early September, Disobedient Media received one responsive document from the DOJ, regarding the request:

The document includes one email exchange dated May 4 – 5, 2015, between personnel from the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), Office of Information Policy (OIP), verifying that Lynch’s alias and email are: Elizabeth Carlisle ([email protected]), and reminding personnel to “as always, please keep confidential”.

[…]Lynch was sworn in as Attorney General on April 27, 2015, and as previously stated, this particular email exchange regarding Lynch’s alias email is dated May 4 – 5, 2015.

The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft was one of the very first to report former Attorney General Loretta Lynch allegedly used an email alias in select correspondence with Department of Justice officials. Judicial Watch president, Tom Fitton, tweeted in August that the watchdog will look into the alias.

Fitton tweeted,”.@JudicialWatch will follow up as appropriate in our litigation on alleged Loretta Lynch email alias.”

Internet sleuth Kim Dotcom dropped a bomb on Twitter.

Kim posted an email showing Loretta Lynch using an alias to contact DOJ officials.

The Department of Justice released hundreds of emails to the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) in the investigation of former AG Lynch’s secret meeting with former President Bill Clinton.

One email shows Loretta Lynch hiding her identity from Department of Justice officials.

Melanie Newman from the Department of Justice leaked it in the email.

And— AG Lynch (Elizabeth Carlisle) then responded with a “thanks to all who worked on this.”
