BUSTED: CNN’s Jim Acosta Spreads FAKE NEWS About McCabe Stepping Down As FBI Deputy Director

CNN‘s Jim Acosta is at it again. The network’s White House correspondent appears to have busted — himself — spreading fake news about FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe stepping down from his role effective today.

First, Acosta tweeted that a “Source familiar with McCabe matter describes his departure as a “mutual” decision. He was tired of being “undermined” but Trump and WH was “not happy” with him.” Minutes later, the reporter beclowned himself, tweeting “More… Source telling us FBI Director Wray told McCabe he was bringing on a new team and that he was not part of it. Writing was on the all. All points to McCabe essentially being pushed out.”

Rather than issue a correction, Acosta quoted tweeted himself, attempting to make it seem as though his primary tweet was half of the story.

Acosta was swiftly busted.

“”More” is an odd way to spell “correction,”” tweeted the Washington Free Beacon’s Alex Griswold.

The Federalist‘s Sean Davis noticed the contradiction, as well, tweeting, “Over the span of mere minutes, CNN’s @Acosta went from saying McCabe voluntarily quit to implying Trump obstructed justice by firing him. What in the world is going on at that network?”

As The Gateway Pundit‘s Jim Hoft reported, Acosta tried desperately to ping President Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday after McCabe was “removed.”

Acosta tried to place McCabe’s ruin on the Trump White House.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders would have none of it.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders: I’ll say what I said 100 times before and will continue to say probably 100 times today, the White House has been fully cooperative and will continue to be fully cooperative… The only thing the president has applied pressure to is to make sure we get this resolved so that you guys and everyone else can focus on the things Americans actually care about. And that is to make sure everyone gets the Russian fever out of their systems once and for all.

“McCabe, who served a brief stint as acting director of the bureau, was already expected to leave. He will stay on “terminal leave” until he is eligible to retire with benefits in March,” reports CNBC.

Last week, the Daily Beast reported former FBI Director James Comey, bureau Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein are officially named in the “shocking” FISA abuse memo.

According to the Washington Post, McCabe intended to resign from the FBI once he was eligible for full pension benefits in March.
