UPDATE: Stormy Daniels Arrested at Strip Performance in Ohio, Accused of Fondling Undercover Female Officer

Porn star and Trump antagonist Stormy Daniels was arrested in Ohio Wednesday night during a performance at a strip club in Columbus, Ohio, according to her attorney Michael Avenatti. Daniels was performing the first of a two-night stand at a club called Sirens.

UPDATES: Booking photo and charging statements posted Thursday morning for Staphanie Cliffords who was arrested for fondling the buttocks and breasts of an undercover female officer and then placing her breasts in the officer’s face:

Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti also posted an “official statement” from Daniels canceling tonight’s scheduled strip performance at the same club.

“Official Statement From @StormyDaniels: As a result of what happened last night, I will unfortunately be unable to go forward with tonight’s scheduled performance. I deeply apologize to my fans in Columbus.”

Columbus station WBNS-TV reported Daniels had nothing to say when brought in for booking overnight. She was later released on $6,000 bond.

…According to an arrest report, Daniels began dancing around 11:30 Wednesday night. During her performance, officers in the club said they witnessed Daniels using her bare breasts to smack patrons. The officers also said they observed Daniels fondling the breasts of female patrons.

The report states that when the officers approached the stage, Daniels held the face of the female officer between her breasts. It also says she did the same to a male officer. The report goes on to say Daniels fondled the buttocks and breasts of another officer. At that point, court documents state that a fourth officer exited the club to request assistance to make an arrest.

Daniels was arrested by Columbus Police and charged with three counts of “Illegally Operating Sexually Oriented Business – Employee Knowingly Touch Any Patron,” according to online court records. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin Municipal Court on Friday morning.

Police brought Daniels to the Jackson Pike Correctional Facility around 4:30 Thursday morning…

Avenatti posted on Twitter that Daniels was arrested for letting a customer touch her, in a “non-sexual manner”, while she was on stage.

“Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs. This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta”

“She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non sexual manner! Are you kidding me? They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!! #SetUp #Basta”

“We expect her to be released on bail shortly. We also expect that she will be charged with a misdemeanor for allowing “touching.” We will vehemently contest all charges. #Basta”

CBS News reported that Daniels arrest has not been confirmed by local authorities.

“Columbus police tell CBS News they’re not aware of Daniels being arrested, and as of early Thursday, Daniels wasn’t being held by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. The club, called Sirens, would only say “no comment” when reached by CBS News.

An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act bars any non-family members form touching a nude or semi-nude dancer, according to The Associated Press.

Avenatti told the AP the arrest was “a set up.”

Avenatti also spoke to NBC News.

“Avenatti told NBC News that he was of the understanding that there were multiple undercover vice officers in the club during Daniels’ show. After the customer touched her, according to the attorney, those officers got up and arrested the performer on the spot.”
