People are expressing concern for German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s health after she was caught on camera uncontrollably shaking during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin on Tuesday.
The alarming incident was apparently not the first time that Merkel, 65, was seen violently shaking in similar circumstances, according to a report from DPA News Agency.
In the footage, a military band plays their national anthems and Merkel’s shaking becomes more aggressive as time goes on.
“And in 2014, Merkel postponed a television interview at the last minute after reported weakness, but her spokesman said at the time she was able to carry it out later after eating and drinking something,” AP reports.
Merkel told a reporter who had asked if she was okay that she is “fine” and felt better after drinking some water.

“Since then I’ve drunk at least three glasses of water, which I apparently needed, and now I’m doing very well,” she said.
It is unclear if Merkel is suffering from any health problems as Germany does not generally disclose the medical conditions of politicians.
