Trump Reveals Why He Carries A Wad Of Cash In His Back Pocket

When President Trump was boarding Air Force One earlier this week in Mountain View, Calif., a Reuters photographer snapped a picture of him walking up the stairs. The snap showed Trump’s hair blowing, his tie over his shoulder — and a wad of cash in his back pocket.

Unlike most president before him, Trump likes to carry cash. On Wednesday night, Trump explained to reporters traveling back to Washington that while he doesn’t carry a wallet, he carries cash so he can leave tips.

A reporter asked Trump if he regularly carries cash.

“I do! I do!” Trump said, whipping out a wad of bills. “I don’t carry a wallet, because I haven’t had to use a credit card in a long time,” Trump said. “I do like leaving tips to the hotel. I like to carry a little something. I like to give tips to the hotel. I’m telling you, maybe a president’s not supposed to do it, but I like to leave a tip for the hotel, etcetera, etcetera.”

Trump laughed that the picture was going viral on social media. “Oh, that’s funny. So the jacket was blowing up?” he added, adding that the press have “good cameras.”

“Boy, that’s a good picture,” he said. “Hey, I’d like a piece of that picture.”
