Minsk Protesters Suffer Brain Injuries

Activists from the weekend protest in Belarus have been hospitalized with “brain injuries”. It was originally reported that the detained were between the ages of 16 and 20 years old. And, today a Minsk court sentenced the activists from this weekends rally to 3 to 15 days in jail for attending an unsanctioned protest in the capital of Minsk.

Today almost all participants of the protest action on Freedom Day have been sentenced by the court of Tsetralny district of Minsk to arrests from 3 to 15 days. 24 persons were accused for participation in the protest with a demand of Lukashenka’s resignation. Some of them were taken to the court with brain injuries.

At the moment a sentence to Andrei Baranau, a Zubr activist, is expected. He had been taken to the court from the hospital, where grave injuries of his head were diagnosed.
