Hillary Holds Senatorial Campaign Fundraiser… In St. Louis

Trying to secure the votes of Mississippi River voters, Senator Hillary Clinton was in town last night to raise money for her New York Senatorial race. JustHillary.com called it a “Cash Dash”. From the St. Louis Post Dispatch:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., is in St. Louis this evening to raise money for her re-election campaign this fall.

The senator’s event is at a private home in the Central West End. Democratic fundraiser Joyce Aboussie set it up.

The event was closed to the press, as was an earlier one today in Kansas City.

Said Clinton spokeswoman Ann Lewis in a telephone interview: “She raises money nationwide. When it comes to raising money in private homes, our goal is to make them as personal and informal as possible. So we keep them closed.’’

Lewis (sister of U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.) is the communications director for Friends of Hillary, the senator’s campaign arm.

It may be April 15, when the senator files her next campaign report, before we find out how much Clinton raised in Missouri today — and who wrote the checks.

You’d think with the extra hundreds of thousands that the United Arab Emirates was paying Bill Clinton to shore up support for Dubai Ports deal, that Hillary would not be forced to campaign for New York Senator from St. Louis. …Must be tough times for the Clintons.
