CAIR says it is OK to support Palestinian Islamic jihad, in fact it was not immoral before 1995… but please don’t use the term “Islamic Fascism”.
CAIR may not like the term “Islamic Fascism” but support funding Islamic jihad anyway since it “wasn’t immoral before 1995.”
From yesterday’s Reuters article- Muslims bristle at Bush term “Islamic fascists”
“We believe this is an ill-advised term and we believe that it is counterproductive to associate Islam or Muslims with fascism,” said Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations advocacy group.
“We ought to take advantage of these incidents to make sure that we do not start a religious war against Islam and Muslims,” he told a news conference in Washington.
“We urge him (Bush) and we urge other public officials to restrain themselves.”
Reuters did not do much better with the prominent US cleric they used in the article, either. Mohamed Elibiary organized and spoke at a tribute to “the great Islamic visionary,” the Ayatollah Khomeini, in 2005.
