To celebrate the victory of “Islam over its enemies” jihadists are planning on fasting on the 5 Year Anniversary of the 9-11 attacks.

As the world’s media prepares to remember the September 11 attacks on the US, whose fifth anniversary falls on Monday, members of Jihadi internet forums are considering a proposal to fast for the day, to celebrate not the lives lost but the “victory of Islam over its enemies.”One forum member, under the name al-Habob, writes: “As 11 September is drawing near, it represents for us a great victory against the enemies of the Islamic nation, we could decide to make it a day of fasting to thank Allah for what happened.”
However, he asks other forum members whether this would be acceptable under the strict Sharia law that they follow: “Do they agree with proclaiming 11 September a day of fasting to thank Allah and ask him to give us other days like that one to defear the infidel?”
This message is followed by others who raise the same question, until finally another participant, who calls himself Abu Qatab, announces: “Next Monday fast but not just for 11 September”
Another forum member, Um Safiya, recalls that “fasting on Monday and Thursday is in always advisable, therefore fast next Monday and intensify your prayers in commemoration of 11 September”.
