Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, provides voice-controlled laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at home or in military hospitals.

Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the ‘Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse. The experience of CPT Charles “Chuck” Ziegenfuss, a partner in the project who suffered severe hand wounds while serving in Iraq, illustrates how important this voice-controlled software can be to a wounded servicemember’s recovery.

Most recently thanks to the efforts of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Valour-IT is now able to reach personnel in VA hospitals who would benefit from a Valour-IT laptop.

Wounded military personnel can request a laptop through the sign-up form if they are recovering at home or in military hospitals, or through the Valour-IT/Soldiers’ Angels representatives if they are patients at the following medical centers:

Balboa Naval Hospital

Brooke Army Medical Center

Madigan Regional Medical Center

National Naval Medical Center (Bethesda Naval Hospital)

Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton

Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital (29 Palms)

Walter Reed Army Medical Center

I am happy to help the Air Force team in this friendly competition.

Please donate!

(Also- I put the Valour-IT Air Force goal thermometer on the sidebar so you can check how we are doing during this competition!)

Update: John Noonan and Soldier’s Angels send this request:

We only need 212 people to give $100 or more. There are 54 blogs listed for Team Air Force. If each blogger could bring in $400, then we’d be there. Can you do it? Talk to your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors. Don’t tell them about the “teams”, or they might want to do something stupid like give to Team Navy. Just tell them about the need and the benefits to our wounded troops. Come on, we can *still* do this! Let’s get busy.

Dear Reader - The enemies of freedom are choking off the Gateway Pundit from the resources we need to bring you the truth. Since many asked for it, we now have a way for you to support The Gateway Pundit directly - and get ad-reduced access. Plus, there are goodies like a special Gateway Pundit coffee mug for supporters at a higher level. You can see all the options by clicking here - thank you for your support!
