This is a compilation of the most recent international reports on Iranian defector Brigadier General Ali Reza Asgari.

Reports coming from the Middle East claim that the Israeli Mossad was working with Great Britain to get Asgari out of Iran. As The Times Online reported today and several sources confirm, Asgari and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have been bitter rivals for many years and Asgari realised that his days were numbered since Ahmadinejad and his compatriots took over power in 2006.

Asgari left Iran in February and once he was convinced that his family was safely out of Iran he flew from Damascus to Istanbul. He was under special protection and support at this time. He then left Istanbul through a NATO base to Germany. His footprint has been wiped out (he disapperaed without a trace).

Although the Iranian regime denies this, it is now confirmed that his two sons, a daughter and several grandchildren and his daughters-in-law are now out of Iran.

Askari has been working with Western intelligence since at least 2003. He has a personal dislike for Ahmadinejad and was being marginalized within the Iranian regime since Ahmadinejad moved into the presidential role in 2006.

** Asgari took with him information on Hezbollah’s training and support from Iran. He carried with him information on Iran’s nuclear program. He also has with him information on the Buenos Aires, Argentina terrorist attack that was mounted on the Jewish community’s AMIA building, killing 200 and injuring 250 people in 1994!

** Reports say his defection is the most horrific blow to the Iranian regime in 28 years!!

Peykeiran.com (The Messenger of Iran) reports that German officials are calling him a Goldmine!

Asgari (Askari, Asghari) is 63 and went to Germany through a NATO base. He was afraid that he might be exposed. He is also concerned that Ahmadinejad may come after him.
