Jimmy Carter Spits On America Again

Jimmy Carter spits more bile at America.
The Daily Times of Pakistan reports on a new “Peace Index” that was released on Wednesday:

Pakistan among 10 least peaceful countries

Norway is the most peaceful country in the world and Iraq the least, according to the study, which notably puts Japan near the top and Russia and Israel close to the bottom.

The Global Peace Index, published a week before a Group of Eight (G8) summit in Germany, rates 121 countries from Algeria to Zimbabwe on factors including levels of violence, organised crime and military expenditure. While most European countries including Britain rank in the top, more peaceful, half of the league table, the United States is nearer the bottom in 96th place, while Russia is fifth from last on 118th.

…The index is backed by international figures including the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former US president Jimmy Carter and US economist Joseph Stiglitz, all winners of the Nobel peace prize.

Well, the list of America-haters endorsing the study explains why America is placed near the bottom of the list.

Delving deeper into this ridiculous America-bashing poll you start to get a feel for what these Far Left nuts were looking at:

First Global Peace Index Ranks 121 Countries

The Economist Intelligence Unit measured countries’ peacefulness based on wide range of indicators – 24 in all – including ease of access to “weapons of minor destruction” (guns, small explosives), military expenditure, local corruption, and the level of respect for human rights.

After compiling the Index, the researchers examined it for patterns in order to identify the “drivers” that make for peaceful societies. They found that peaceful countries often shared high levels of democracy and transparency of government, education and material well-being. While the U.S. possesses many of these characteristics, its ranking was brought down by its engagement in warfare and external conflict, as well as high levels of incarceration and homicide. The U.S.’s rank also suffered due to the large share of military expenditure from its GDP, attributed to its status as one of the world’s military-diplomatic powers.

The main findings of the Global Peace Index are:

— Peace is correlated to indicators such as income, schooling and the level of regional integration
— Peaceful countries often shared high levels of transparency of government and low corruption
— Small, stable countries which are part of regional blocs are most likely to get a higher ranking

Norway tops list, U.S. comes in at 96

“The objective of the Global Peace Index was to go beyond a crude measure of wars by systematically exploring the texture of peace,” explained Global Peace Index President, Mr. Clyde McConaghy, speaking in Washington. “The Index provides a quantitative measure of peacefulness that is comparable over time, and we hope it will inspire and influence world leaders and governments to further action.”

The Index has already won the support of an influential and distinguished group of supporters, many of whom are dedicated to promoting global peace, including former U.S. President James Carter, the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Richard Branson and Harriet Fulbright of the Fulbright Centre.

Here is the “peace list” compiled by the Far Left group. Notice the regimes that rank above the United States:

Here are just a couple of quick observations:
** Brazil suffers 55,000 murders annually.
** A number of the countries listed above the US are not even free– the worst kind of human rights violence.
** Saudi Arabia at 90? Where gays are flogged in public and Christianity is outlawed?
** Iran is placed one spot below the US?
Is this “peace”?

Where women are beaten for not covering their heads… And terrorism is a major export???

And… Did you notice they have Israel as one of the most violent?… And, it’s not because they are getting Palestinian missiles lobbed at them daily you can be sure!
No wonder Jimmy Carter liked it!

Give me a break.
