Iranian Film critics announced their plans to invite Michael Moore to their upcoming “Reality Cinema” festival in October.
Mehr News reported:
The Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) plans to invite enfant terrible of the U.S. cinema, Michael Moore, to Iran to take part in the Reality Cinema, an Iranian festival for documentary films.
The officials of the festival, which will be held in Tehran from October 15 – 19, are trying to prepare the ground to screen “Sicko”, Moore’s highly acclaimed documentary comparing the highly profitable American health care industry to that of other nations, and HMO horror stories.
“Sicko” is Moore’s follow-up to 2004’s “Fahrenheit 9/11”, a $100 million hit criticizing the Bush administration over Sept. 11.
Moore, a fierce critic of President Bush, was under investigation by the U.S. Treasury Department for taking ailing Sept. 11 rescue workers to Cuba for a segment in “Sicko”, the Associated Press reported on May 10.
The Iranian Students News Agency is also reporting this exciting news today.
