IAW Monday Lineup: Horowitz, Spencer, Coulter, Bruce, Ahrends, Nathan, Saghieh & Darwish Are Up


Here is the Monday lineup of speakers for Islamofascism Awareness Week:

** George Mason University:
Alan Nathan and Luana Saghieh are scheduled to speak at 8:30pm, at the Johnson Center Cinema.

Alan Nathan: As an eyewitness on 9-11, Alan Nathan was the first member of the media to report the attack on the Pentagon. Currently he’s a regular columnist with Front Page Magazine and is often a guest columnist in The Washington Examiner and The Washington Times. He has also been published in WorldNetDaily and Insight Magazine.

Luana Saghieh: Luana Saghieh is an international affairs graduate student at the Lebanese American University. She is an expert on Lebanese politics and writes regularly for the Daily Star.

** DePaul University:
Robert Spencer – 7pm at the Cortalyou Commons.

Robert Spencer: Robert is the director of Jihad Watch, a project of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and the author of two New York Times bestsellers on Islamic jihad. Spencer has written seven books, ten monographs, and well over two hundred articles about jihad and Islamic terrorism. Robert is also a regular contributor at the very popular HotAir website.

** Tulane University:
Ann Coulter.

Ann Coulter: Ann does not need much introduction. Ann Coulter is the author of five New York Times bestsellers —Godless: The Church of Liberalism (June 2006),How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)(October, 2004), Treason: Liberal Treachery From the Cold War to the War on Terrorism (June 2003); Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right (June 2002); and High Crimes and Misdemeanors:The Case Against Bill Clinton (August 1998). Ann is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a popular syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including Hannity and Colmes, Wolf Blitzer Reports, At Large With Geraldo Rivera, Scarborough Country, HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, The O’Reilly Factor, Good Morning America and has been profiled in numerous publications, including TV Guide, the Guardian (UK), the New York Observer, National Journal, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle magazine, among others. She was named one of the top 100 Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner in 2001.

** UC Berkeley:
Nonie Darwish– Evans Hall, lecture hall 10

Nonie Darwish: Nonie is an Arab-American writer and public speaker. She is the author of the book Now they Call Me Infidel; Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel and the War on Terror. Nonie’s message is not about disloyalty but love for her culture of origin. She blames Arab leadership and the media for the endless rage and violence of the Arab street.

** University of Wisconsin, Madison:
David Horowitz

David Horowitz: David is the editor of FrontPage Magazine and founder of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, David was once a Marxist and now is an influential American conservative writer and activist. David Horowitz is an outspoken opponent of censorship and racial preferences, and a defender of the rights of minorities and other groups under attack — including the rights of blacks, gays, women, Jews, Muslims, Christians and white males.

** Pepperdine University:
Tammy Bruce in the Student Lounge at 7PM.
(Due to the massive brush fires this event may be cancelled)

Tammy Bruce: Tammy Bruce is an openly gay, pro-choice, gun owning, pro-death penalty, voted-for-President Bush authentic feminist. A lifelong Democrat, in the 1990s she worked to help elect Senators Feinstein and Boxer, and aided the Clinton for President campaign. Before we knew he was a sexual compulsive and “did not have sexual relations with that woman.” Bruce is a successful author and syndicated radio host.

** University of North Carolina Chapel Hill:
Joel A. Arends

Joel A. Arends: Then-1st Lt. Arends and his team of 30 soldiers operated in and around Baghdad from February 2004 to April 2005. They were responsible for catching a number of terrorists, including one carrying bomb-making materials, jidhadist propaganda and large sums of cash. The terrorist claimed to be a professor at a major university in the United States. They also captured one of Saddam Hussein’s personal bodyguards. Another time, Arends’ team rescued Iraqi civilians from burning vehicles when insurgents attacked a checkpoint near their patrol area. Army National Guard Capt. Joel Arends is an American hero.
