FOX News reported that police are running through the terminal at LAX due to a bomb threat.
Part of the airport has been shut down.
A man has been arrested after telling authorities that he had a bomb and that he was a terrorist.
Here is the first report on the LAX bomb threat from News5 LA:
Travelers at Los Angeles International Airport are being told to evacuate the area around terminal 3 after a man walked up to a limousine driver and made a “security threat.”
Police have shut down the upper- and lower-levels roads through the airport near the Tom Bradley International Terminal and called in a bomb squad to examine a bag he was carrying, airport officials said.
The person was arrested by Airport Police.
Experts say Airport Police officers were conducting a routine traffic stop at the airport around 10:50 a.m. when the suspect approached them and claimed to be a terrorist who was carrying a bomb in his backpack.
Sterling Payne of the Transportation Security Administration confirmed that the suspect had been arrested, but she was unsure who the person originally approached.
“We’re still trying to determine what statements were made to whom,” she said.
