The Ties That Bind… Pelosi, Dems, Dead FARC Terrorists & Hard Drives

Top FARC dog Raul Reyes was killed by Colombian forces on March 1, 2008.

The Colombian government later released a photo of the dead FARC Leader Raul Reyes . (LePoint)

After his death Colombian forces raided his FARC camp and found two computers that belonged to the terrorist mastermind.
Since that time the government has been releasing information on the 37,872 files that were discovered on these FARC computers.

On March 4, 2008- A file was released that discussed Barack Obama:

The gringos will ask for an appointment with the minister to solicit him to communicate to us his interest in discussing these topics. They say that the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Obama will not support “Plan Colombia” nor will he sign the TLC (Colombian Free Trade agreement).

On March 12, 2008 the Colombian government released documents that spoke about Bill Clinton and Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez:

The 16 documents were published Sunday by the news magazine Semana. They also detail previously unknown relationships held or sought by Latin America’s oldest and most potent rebel force, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC.

Another discusses an apparent effort by U.S. Democrats to have celebrated novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez mediate talks with the insurgents — possibly with former President Clinton’s involvement.

On March 25, 2008- There was a published report that linked Democrat Jim McGovern as the point man in negotiations with the FARC terrorists:

The Reyes hard drive reveals an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC by Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.), a leading opponent of the free-trade deal. Mr. McGovern has been working with an American go-between, who has been offering the rebels help in undermining Colombia’s elected and popular government.

Mr. McGovern’s press office says the Congressman is merely working at the behest of families whose relatives are held as FARC kidnap hostages. However, his go-between’s letters reveal more than routine intervention. The intervenor with the FARC is James C. Jones, who the Congressman’s office says is a “development expert and a former consultant to the United Nations.” Accounts of Mr. Jones’s exchanges with the FARC appeared in Colombia’s Semana magazine on March 15.

July 7, 2008- FARC documents say Speaker Pelosi was sending messages to the Colombian Leftist terror group while undermining the Colombian government on the free trade pact:

Mr. Chavez had other cards up his sleeve. One involved Colombian Sen. Piedad Cordoba, who is currently under investigation by the Colombian attorney general for ties to the FARC. She figures prominently in the captured rebel documents, and is notoriously close to Mr. Chávez.

She met at the Venezuelan presidential palace with FARC leaders last fall. From that meeting the rebels reported that “Piedad says that Chávez has Uribe going crazy. He doesn’t know what to do. That Nancy Pelosi helps and is ready to help in the swap [hostages in exchange for captured guerrillas]. That she has designated [U.S. Congressman Jim] McGovern for this.”

July 29, 2008- The Politico reported on Nancy Pelosi and her crush:

The Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez is such a favorite that Pelosi’s staffers joke about what she would do if the Nobel laureate were to call about the Colombian Trade Agreement bottled up in the House.

It is interesting that the Speaker’s favorite author is mentioned in the FARC documents along with the Speaker.

It would be wonderful is someone in the MSM decided to investigate these connections further. But, then again, they may not like what they find.
